Promoting Nepal tourism in France

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and representatives of the travel trade on Tuesday requested newly appointed ambassador of Nepal to France Mohan Krishna Shrestha to publicize Nepal as a premier destination in France. As Nepal has had no ambassador in France for a long time, efforts to promote a popular adventure destination for French tourists have been affected, said Prachanda Man Shrestha, chief executive officer (CEO) of the NTB. More than 20,000 French tourists used to visit Nepal annually; however, lack of adequate air connectivity has resulted in French arrivals dropping 3.8 percent in 2009.
